I’ve had several people ask me what I have been doing to lose weight. This last week, someone even asked if I would teach a class. Here’s the idea that I have. I am willing to coach a group of people who have learned a little about keto with intermittent fasting on their own but would like to have the support of a group to share recipes, struggles and successes with one another.
Keto and intermittent fasting isn’t only for weight loss. There are other benefits that can be achieved as well. In my case, I have been able (with my doctor’s guidance) to wean off of my heart medication and my blood pressure medication. If you would like to participate, please let me know and then, I would like you to read one of the books listed below, and I would like you talk to your doctor before you just jump right in. Depending on what medications you take, you will most likely need their guidance for how you should proceed.
I have given a little description and the Amazon link for each book so you can decide which one you would like to read. They are available in book, Kindle and audio format. We will start a group, if there is interest, in a few weeks once you have had a chance to read and talk to your doctor.
ANYWAY YOU CAN: Doctor Bosworth Shares Her Mom’s Cancer Journey: A BEGINNER’S GUIDE TO KETONES FOR LIFE by amazon.com
(This book has the most information about Keto and intermittent fasting. It also has an interesting story that is a nice break from the science and shows how the science was put to practice.)
The Obesity Code: Unlocking the Secrets of Weight Loss by Amazon.com
(This is the first book that I read that got me to start this journey. I’ve learned a lot about keto from other sources but this book has a lot of science and can help the reader understand why they would choose to fast.)
The Diabetes Code: Prevent and Reverse Type 2 Diabetes Naturally by amazon.com
(I have not read this book. But, Keto and intermittent fasting has been used to cure Type 2 diabetes. If you or someone you love has Type 2 diabetes, this might be the book for you.)
Grain Brain: The Surprising Truth about Wheat, Carbs, and Sugar–Your Brain’s Silent Killers by amazon.com
(This book isn’t about keto but so much of what the author says has correlation to keto that it is worth including. Steve Gilbert told me about this book.)
