The mission of Bethesda Lutheran Church is to proclaim through our words and actions the good news of Jesus Christ so that all people would know Him, live in a growing relationship with Him, and go into all the world with Christ’s love. We commit this mission to the glory of God.
What It Means to be Lutheran
We believe that we were freed in Christ to love and serve our neighbors through prayer and service. We are a church that is constantly changing and being made new through the ideas of our members, but we are solidly rooted in scripture and the vibrant community and histories we are based in. Regardless of your background, you are welcome in this community of faith! Your unique story can only add to the richness of the Lutheran congregation.
What We Believe
We believe in the Triune God:
Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
The Lord Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is the Word of God incarnate, through whom everything was made and through whose life, death and resurrection God fashions a new creation.
In Jesus Christ, there is a brand new today, tomorrow, and eternity for all who believe.
We are created in the image of God. Through our sin, we are subject to physical and spiritual death (separation from God). We are born with this sinful nature and need God’s salvation.
Jesus Christ died and rose again to save us from sin, death and the power of Satan. “God loved the world so much that he sent his only son, that whoever believes in him shall have eternal life.” John 3:16.
The Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the written Word of God. Inspired by God’s Spirit, they record and announce God’s revelation centering in Jesus Christ. We accept the Scriptures as the authoritative source and norm of the congregation’s proclamation, faith and life.
