Growing Together Through Bible Studies & Gatherings

“Growth” is a popular subject in our society, but the path is not always clear. Half of the non-fiction shelves at the bookstore are devoted to some form of personal or societal growth.

Spiritual growth does not have a clear consensus either. So what does growth look at here at Bethesda?

For us, it’s not about toil, but trust. It’s not about feats, but faith.

  • Trusting God is good
  • Trusting Jesus is gracious
  • Trusting Holy Spirit is a giver

Every self-help book gives you something to do. Christian growth announces what God has done for you, and is now doing through you.

Christian growth does not look the same for everyone. Some of us gravitate to Bible studies, some to prayer and contemplation, some to acts of service and community, and so on. Our hope at Bethesda is to be whole-life Christians – not just a brain, or a heart, or a helping hand.

I’ve heard it said that “if you have the Word without the Spirit, you’ll dry up; if you have the Spirit without the Word, you’ll blow up; if you have the Word and the Spirit, you’ll grow up.”

That’s what our desire is here. Whole-life discipleship to Jesus.

Current Bible Studies

Daytimer’s Bible Study, 11am every Thursday with Pastor Tom. We study and discuss the upcoming readings for Sunday worship. No Bible study experience needed! You do not need to be Lutheran. We represent a range of backgrounds.

Women’s Bible Study, 10am on the first Wednesday of the month.

*NEW* Sunday morning Bible study, 10:45am following worship.

Sunday Mornings: Coffee, Crew Meetings, and Adult Forum

Following Worship at 10:45am

Coffee and treats weekly

Pastor-led Adult Forum classes and discussions (3-4 week series very other month)

Occasional “Crew Meetings” at coffee hour which means less committee meetings during the week! We like to plan over coffee when we are already here for worship.
