Sunday Worship at Bethesda Lutheran Church

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.”
Ephesians 2:8-9

Welcome to Bethesda Lutheran Church—where mercy, not burden, is at the heart of our Sunday worship.

The name “Bethesda” means “House of Mercy,” and that’s exactly what we strive to be. We don’t gather on Sundays to pile on expectations or deliver a pep talk about what we should be doing for God. Instead, we come together to receive the peace and promise of what God has already done for us.

We are a Lutheran church, grateful for this heritage, but we’re not here to make more Lutherans. Our mission is simple: “Welcome all God’s children home to mercy in Jesus.” We believe Lutheran theology gives the best chance to receive Jesus without strings attached.

Sunday Schedule:

  • Worship, 9:30am
  • Coffee hour following service to connect with others
  • Adult Forum, 10:45am
  • Sunday School for Kids, 10:45am

What To Expect At Our 9:30 Service

If you’re wondering what worship is like here, the best way to describe it is “blended.” If you come from a traditional background, you might find us “relaxed liturgical.” If you’re more familiar with non-denominational services, we might seem fairly traditional. Either way, our focus is always on Jesus.

Here’s what you’ll experience:

  • A welcoming atmosphere—come as you are!
  • Weekly children’s message—kids are not just welcome; they are embraced. (Only my four manage to distract me!)
  • Communion every Sunday—a central part of our worship.
  • A variety of music—some weeks feature modern, guitar-driven praise music; others include classic, organ-led hymns.
  • Bible-based sermons—about 15–20 minutes, with a printed outline and a take-home reflection sheet.
  • Fellowship after service—stay for coffee hour, Sunday school, or adult forum classes.

Curious? Check out our YouTube channel for a sense of our services, but we’d love to meet you in person. Wherever you’re coming from, know that you are welcome here. Peace be with you!

Sunday School

Throughout the school year, we host Sunday School for our little ones (K-5) at 10:45 a.m. Here at Bethesda, children can engage in arts, crafts, songs, and educational activities that are both fun and enriching. To discover more about our Youth Programs click the button below.
