Helping Anyone
Caring Compassionately Through Church Community Service
Following the Risen One as a connected community inspires us to help anyone with care and compassion. Bethesda is a “roll-up-the-sleeves” church – we strive to feed, clothe, support, and guide where there is need through church community service. We have also supported missionaries near and far to share the hope that is found in Jesus Christ.
“Through love serve one another, for the entire law is summed up in one word, “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
Galatians 5:13-14
Local
At Bethesda, we believe that grace is instrumental – grace comes TO us so that it might move THROUGH us, for the blessing of others. We cherish our longstanding connections with the Bethel-Danebo neighborhood and school district. We value and support many social service organizations throughout the city and greater Eugene-Springfield area.
Local Partnerships
Bethesda hosts, provides support, or maintains relationships with the following local organizations:
Bloodmobile
Did you know:
- Every 2 seconds, someone in the United States needs blood.
- One donation can help multiple people in need.
- Blood donations can help trauma victims, cancer patients, and those with other illnesses.
Throughout the year, the Bloodmobile stops by Bethesda. You have the opportunity to sign-up to donate blood via the sign-up sheet in the office.

Global
We believe that God has called us to be a mission community that spreads the good news of God’s love to all people, whether they live across the street or across the ocean.
Our benevolence giving through our denominational affiliate, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, also goes largely towards mission support, domestically and globally. We also support Lutheran World Relief, rated A+ by Newsweek as one of the best international relief agencies, and 1517 Ministries.
